BIG July Summer Closet Clean Out to Benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters

Date: July 1, 2015

Event Description Clean Out a Closet (or two) This July and Make a BIG Difference to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Sacramento Area!

ReUseIt, in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Sacramento, is making it easy to de-clutter homes while making a difference locally by hosting a month long Clothing & Household Donation Drive. Their goal is to reach 90,000 pounds of clothing and household items during the month of July in order to raise nearly $5,000 for their youth mentoring program. This clothing drive is a simple way to fundraise as nobody needs to write a check! Simply drop off your donations of usable clothing, shoes and other household items at any of the four local ReUseIt Donation Stations listed below during the entire month of July.

4395 Rocklin Road (just off I-80 near Granite Drive in Rocklin)
7770 Auburn Boulevard in Citrus Heights (near the Antelope intersection)
5005 Stockton Boulevard in Sacramento (just north of Fruitridge next to Thrift Town)
6328 Fair Oaks Boulevard (corner of Marconi & Fair Oaks behind Thrift Town)

All donations dropped off at these ReUseIt Donation Stations in July directly benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Sacramento. In celebration of this month-long donation drive, everyone who donates two bags or more of donations will receive a $5 Off Thrift Town coupon! All donations are tax deductible. This fundraiser does not cost any money and it promotes responsible recycling. It is a great way to give back to the local community while raising money to fund the mentoring programs at Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Through the generous donations of usable clothing and household items, ReUseIt has helped Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Sacramento raise over $59,000 so far this year. Big Brothers Big Sisters SERVED 359 CHILDREN LAST YEAR right here in the Sacramento community. They are looking for mentors, especially males. 70% of the kids waiting for a mentor are boys, but only 3 out of 10 inquiries to volunteer are from men. Your donations of usable clothing and household items will help Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Sacramento raise money to provide funding for personnel to facilitate matching a child with a mentor. It costs approximately $1,300 to create and sustain a mentor relationship.

This unique recycling fundraiser event is sponsored by ReUseIt, a registered, local business that provides support & service to nonprofit organizations in our local communities. The ReUseIt team has over 40 years of experience in the household recycling industry, and is dedicated to making a difference locally. ReUseIt offers local nonprofit organizations the opportunity to raise important funds for their cause without having to spend a dime.

Donated items that are accepted include usable clothing, shoes, jewelry, belts, purses, backpacks, bedding and linens, housewares, hardware, toys, sporting goods, small appliances and some furniture. For more information please visit www.ReUseIt.org. ###
